Sue-Ellen Watts is the Founder and Managing Director of wattsnext, a rapidly growing service company that has evolved through her passion for people and the challenges faced across the small to medium business sector.
With over 15 years’ experience, Sue-Ellen has worked as both a recruiter and human resource professional across a variety of businesses, industries and states. This experience coupled with her drive and passion to succeed led to the innovative creation of wattsnext. wattsnext are a dynamic team of accomplished HR, Performance and Recruitment specialists providing powerful pathways to new levels of business and people performance.
With a mission to create great workplaces, Sue-Ellen is an expert in helping business owners, CEO’s and key decision makers across Australian organizations enhance their workplace culture by implementing a HR strategy that drives business performance, increases staff productivity, efficiency and satisfaction.
A true disruptor of the HR and Recruitment industry, Sue-Ellen and her high performing team at wattsnext take a commercial approach to people management. As a result of this innovative approach, wattsnext has grown from 4 staff to 15 in 4 short years. Servicing clients in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and also Philadelphia in the USA, Sue-Ellen is opening offices in Sydney and Melbourne in 2015. This is all while raising her family of 3 young boys.
An industry influencer and thought leader in every way, Sue-Ellen is a regular contributor to; 4BC, 2UE and 96.5fm radio stations; Courier Mail, Smart Company and Brisbane Business News publications and also The Today Show in WA. A charismatic, engaging and motivating communicator Sue-Ellen is a regular public speaker at major events which include the 2015 AIM International Women’s Day Debate, Recruiting & Consulting Services Australia (RCSA) Conferences, Australian Institute of Management Conferences, and also industry specific national governing body events.
Sue-Ellen was named a finalist in the 2011 Telstra Queensland Business Women’s Awards in two categories, the Commonwealth Bank Business Owner Award and the Marie Claire Young Business Women’s Award and also the 2013 Australian Institute of Management Awards in the category of Owner Manager of the Year. She is an Industry Expert for Queensland Leaders, Victorian Leaders, and New South Wales Leaders, a member of the Entrepreneurs Organization and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
